Our Client is the world's leading provider of quantitative credit analysis solutions to lenders, investors and corporations. They are designed to help their clients in enhancing the economic returns to their businesses. They are looking for a Senior Consultant/ Engagment Manager to base in Beijing.

They create products and services based upon a sophisticated application of modern financial theory and statistical analysis.  These tools transform vast amounts of financial data and knowledge into applied insight to manage credit.  As their clients employ their products and services to more effectively manage credit risk, they drive the evolution of more liquid credit markets.

Their Analytics Risk Management Services is currently seeking for an exceptional individual to join their team as an Engagement Manager for the Asia Pacific Region.  They are one of the world's leading consulting partners for financial institutions seeking to more effectively measure, manage and control their exposure to credit risk.  They have unique ability to access a wealth of credit-related research, data and tools to solve complex credit risk challenges for clients.  Their services include design and development of credit risk models, credit process re-engineering, model validation and calibration, regulatory mandate planning, knowledge transfer, custom financial analytics and financial valuations.

Job Responsibilities:

- Reporting to the Head of Risk Management Services, you will be supporting business development efforts and working as a key member of the pre-sale team.  This will specifically entail meeting with prospective clients to share expertise and recommend solutions in real-time as part of determining client requirements and project scope.  It will also involve creating pitch presentations, estimating project durations and resource requirements, setting prices and negotiating contract terms

- Leading project teams which involve helping junior members understand their individual responsibilities to projects.  This will also involve delegating tasks, providing coaching and guidance, setting expectations for quality, managing and resolving issues or conflicts, and providing general direction and mentorship to teams

- Managing relationships with clients and act as a lead role to ensure client satisfaction and position the Company for follow-up consulting engagements.  This includes managing expectations and managing communications with clients, and representing Company during discussions with senior client staff

- Developing project plans, determining staffing needs, managing the day-to-day project schedule, scoping and reviewing deliverables, leading status meetings, managing the project budget and communicating status and results to the Regional Practice Leader

- Managing revenue and utilization targets.  This will involve working with the Regional Practice Leader to set and manage a target book of business based on volume of engagements to be led within a given year or quarter

- Coordinating activities with other groups with the Company.  This will require liaising with other product and service delivery groups such as Training Services Group, and the Implementation Services Group.  It will also require interaction with the operations, sales, finance, legal and strategy teams

- Developing intellectual capital and supporting research efforts.  This will involve identifying topics of interest to risk practitioners, providing ideas and input, harvesting ideas from prior projects, conducting primary and secondary research, writing white papers and presentations, and contributing to the overall research agenda

Job Qualifications:

- A minimum of a MA or MS degree; PhD, MBA and CFA a plus

- 7 - 10 years of relevant professional experience with a track record of successful project management, preferably within a commercial banking or capital markets environment

- Experience as a team leader with responsibility for managing stakeholder expectations

- Experience in scoping, pricing and planning complex projects and leading meeting, presentations and workshops

- Strong skills in writing proposals and supporting business development activities

- Strong risk-related concepts with solid knowledge of Basel II

- Excellent written and verbal communications in English and one Asian language with an ability to communicate complex concepts to senior audience

- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment with strong client-orientation with commitment to client satisfaction

- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a deep understanding of finance and banking knowledge

- Basic knowledge of MS Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint, SAS and MS Project

- Position requires approximately 50% travelling within Asia Pacific
